my own tub of ben and jerry's for less than 10 SGD! =D
with my lab partner chinma, lab TAs magnus and carlos and classmate kourosh =)
yup! official lessons ended for me! happily survived through 15 sessions of lab (though we only took around 12 but spend extra 2 cleaning the fumehoods and lab) but had the fiercest weekend of clearing 3 lab reports within 4 days totally without any references (aka senior's lab reports) which i am quite proud of myself. learnt how to depend on scientific papers and online resources and the limited books i have here to finish up the reports! glad to say that i've learnt a lot from the labs! and above is the picture taken with my 2 TAs carlos and magnus as well as with chinma my lab partner and the guy who keep asking questions for n times kourosh. nevertheless we had fun in the lab. its much more fun than lab back in nus. probably due to less people in 1 lab and we can mingle around more often. =)
currently having a 2 weeks break before my exam on the 4th and i am leaving lund exactly in 2 weeks! will definitely miss lund, the nice and quiet town with friendly swedes around who are really friendly and helpful if you approach them. even when i am cycling around the cars will always give way to the bikes and thanks to them i have no problems biking on the roads except for the horrible buses. been biking for a week since my bus concession ended and its really tiring to bike to school which takes around 15 minutes but its upslope all the way. but luckily there's nice weather these days with more sun and i managed to get a bit of tan back =) jackets are only needed at night when we go out =) spring's nice! lund's nice! but home's nicer! =)
currently on my countdown is 40 days back to SG and 14 days in lund, hence meaning 26 days of travelling! okie 1 day less for my 12 hours flight back haha cum the loss of 6 hours more when i reach back SG due to the time differences. will go on a food spree after i come back! woohoO! and will be spending my birthday out of town over the weekend in KL with my family! going KL 2 days after i come back meaning that i will most likely be resting at home adjusting from jet lag but hopefully will be able to meet up with friends and perhaps some profs to discuss about my fyp which is currently hanging there. and really really hope that i wouldn't get quarantined when i get back since the places i am going all now having swine flu especially with london and spain which are more serious. hopefully the swine flu will die down else i will be missing my KL trip and some of the chem shark's commencement on the 8th.
and yup gotta start studying on my organometallics. no motivation to study yet but i don't want to fail my exam! though there are 2 reexaminations but i would have to spend moolah and time flying back just for it. oh yeah i survived though a seminar presenting on some scientific paper and i thought i did rather well for it. one of the lecturers didn't even bother asking me questions and i wonder if that's a good or bad sign. okie need to get all distractions away from me while i study for it. missing the condusive environment in sci lib or rather the people who study with me. blehs.
and my bro will be heading to mit in september! woohoo! so proud of him! he's doing a masters in chem eng which is a collaboration between nus and mit! cool! and he's getting some sponsorship for his studies which will be great. hopefully the swine flu in US will get better and i hope to visit him as my year end trip! =) boston! =) poor papa and mama have to webcam with another child after 1 just come back for 2 months lol. at least its only 4 months and not 6 months like mine =) and my bro's is going with his good friend whom i know and he had been in overseas internship so i guess its nothing to him =) and i am excited to try and smuggle into his commencement when i come back! =D though it will be boring to sit there for hours. =X
missing home and everyone back then! will be reaching back in SG on 1/7/09 at 0520H! woohoO! and after this exchange i am pretty sure that i wouldn't be heading overseas again for masters or phd since i would be really much happier in SG compared to now but this exchange had taught me a lot of stuff like getting to be more independent and learning to opening up myself, doing enough self-reflection and needing self-discipline. its really an enriching but expensive experience but i am glad i came despite all the things that happened. from this i also know who really cares for me especially my family and my friends! thanks all for keeping me company cyberly online when i needed someone to talk to. 40 days and we shall meet again! tada~
